The infrared Sauna is very different from the famous traditional Finnish sauna .

The major difference of the Sauna Infrared lies in the heat emanation system. The steam created in traditional saunas is generated by water thrown on the hot stones, while in infrared saunas the heat is given off through infrared, which directly heats the body without heating the air.

The sauna infrared bath is thus a dry heat bath that provides a pleasant and relaxing feeling of well-being, similar to that experienced by exposing the body to the sun.
The rays provide constant heat, thus avoiding heating and cooling intervals.

In traditional saunas (which reach up to 80-90°C) there is a need to alternate exposure time to humid heat with cold showers. Infrared saunas, on the other hand, reach a temperature between 40° and 60°C at the most, allowing for long exposure (20-30 minutes).

What are Infrared Rays?

Infrared is electromagnetic waves, which conduct heat down to the earth.
Infrared rays should not be confused with ultraviolet rays. Unlike the latter, which are harmful to the skin, infrared has beneficial and healthful properties both physically and psychologically.

To optimize the heat bath, it is advisable to take a lukewarm shower before entering sauna, in order to dilate the pores and prepare the skin for the treatment.
To avoid heat stroke, it is important to enter sauna totally dry.
